Big heart, small minds
Short form fiction: Bullies
Editor’s note: Over the next few months, I’ll share some of my short-form fiction with you here, as well as updates on my Kindle Vellas. The following was written during a 5-minute (or less!) writing sprint.
His heart was so big. Full of kindness, overlooking the insults thrown his way by the bigger kids. His heart was magnanimous, wanting to embrace those kids, if a heart could, and make them his friends. It was difficult for him to ignore the feelings of hurt and betrayal, but he wanted to so badly. Can a heart forgive the words and slurs casually tossed his way? He decided it could, and walked over to the biggest bully. He held out his hand to reveal a baseball. Would they let him join the team? The bully snatched the ball from his hand and pushed him down. His heart ached.
